Donors Forum

Mission Statement
The Donors Forum of Central Florida is an association that provides members an opportunity to increase the effectiveness of their philanthropy by interacting in a learning environment and exploring local issues and concerns.

Statement of Purpose
The purpose of the Donors Forum of Central Florida is to promote philanthropy throughout the Central Florida area by:

  • Encouraging effective grant making
  • Developing and encouraging leadership in the grant making community
  • Strengthening cooperation among funders and grantees
  • Acting as a clearinghouse of information about grant making and philanthropy for members and the community

Values
The Donors Forum of Central Florida:

  • Encourages philanthropy that is guided by the values of ethical conduct and accountability and strives to maintain the highest standards in both practices and processes
  • Is committed to promoting and encouraging cooperation among funders and grantees
  • Urges grant makers to listen to community leaders and strives to provide opportunities to hear the diverse voices of the community

Programs
The Donors Forum of Central Florida, a membership organization, provides a focal point and clearinghouse for more than 200 Central Florida foundations, corporate giving programs, individual donors, and public funding organizations. The Donors Forum is guided by an Executive Committee and administered by the Rollins College Philanthropy & Nonprofit Leadership Center.

General Meetings
Four general meetings are held each year, and speakers present on a wide variety of topics, from reports on significant community issues to trends in philanthropy and nonprofit management. Meetings include opportunities for members to share initiatives and priorities and to suggest opportunities for collaborative work.

Resource Library
The Donors Forum has a resource library located in the Philanthropy & Nonprofit Leadership Center offices on the second floor of the Samuel B. Lawrence Center, 200 E. New England Avenue, downtown Winter Park. Materials may be loaned to grant makers.

Affinity Groups
Grant makers come together to discuss common issues or programs and create affinity groups as the need arises.
